The United States continues to face significant maternal health challenges, particularly among underserved communities. Improving outcomes requires greater investment in community-based supports that meet families where they are. Evidence-based approaches—including community health workers, home visiting programs, and accessible perinatal mental health services—are essential to reducing disparities, expanding access to care, and improving the health and well-being of mothers and babies.

Hosted by Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center, this national briefing will explore successful community-driven models, elevate the voices of patients and providers, and examine federal policy opportunities that can strengthen and sustain maternal health initiatives nationwide.

The distinguished panel includes:

  • Veranda Rodgers, MBA – Founder & President, Pregnant with Possibilities Resource Center & Bloom Behavioral Health

  • Joy Burkhard, MBA – Founder & Executive Director, Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health

  • Maya Hardigan, MBA – Founder & CEO, Mae

  • Crystal Pirtle Tyler, PhD, MPH – Chief Executive Officer, Illinois Public Health Institute

As moderator and host organization, PPRC is proud to convene this important national conversation, reaffirming its commitment to advancing equitable maternal healthcare through innovation, advocacy, policy, and community-based solutions.
